Letter From The Curator: 10/27/15-Overcoming Obstacles!
So here in #LetterFromTheCurator, I am going to always keep it real with you guys. I want our readers to have a real sense of "the inside scoop" on the happenings at LCP.. So even when things are trying and obstacles arise, I'm gonna keep it #100 with you guys and let you know the deal!
1. I AM STILL FIGURING THIS THING OUT! There's really no other way to say it. Everyday, I learn something new. Every few days, I come to a new revelation, and with each passing week, and new revelation, I get a better understand of how to run this publication. We are still working out the kinks, our rhythm is still developing, and our lives are just as hectic as they were before we started #TheNewLCP. We all still have to work our day jobs and maneuver life and all it's curves.. Just know that #TeamLCP is giving their all!
2. DON'T OVER PROMISE! Just because I #Curate an entire month's editorial calendar does not mean that it is going to go exactly as I envisioned. By that, I mean, LIFE HAPPENS. Last week, most of our team went trough some motions... Illness, happenstance, work, and all matters of life seemed to take LCP by storm. We rode it out like some G's though. We didn't buckle, and we still pumped out some AWESOME new content! It just wasn't aaaall the content that I had planned for that week. Some extensions, and re-purposing certain articles fixed the kinks, but I was left feeling like I let our readers down, by not delivering all that I had promised. This is where hindsight comes in! One of our contributors suggested that "Letter From The Curator" go back and cover what the prior week produced. This way, I'm not having to retract statements and explain shortcomings. I mean, I'm all about keeping it #100, but there's a thin line between exposing "family business" and keeping it real!
I loved the suggestions #MaxineDior made, and I think it's suitable to our ship! So with that said, from now on, we will use #LFTC as a time & place where I get to engage with the readers, and see what you all have to say. Are you guys enjoying #TheNewLCP? Is there some subject matter that you guys would like to see us cover? Do you have a story you want to share with LCP? What were your favorite articles from the previous week? What did you love and hate?
We're trying to build an active and engaged tribe here at LCP, and we want to hear from you! Comment, email us, message us, tweet us, follow us! Live Life with us. Explore Culture with us, Unite with different People, and most importantly, GROW with us!
3. KEEP HAVING FUN! Yes, we have a job to do and a commitment to keep to you all. But to keep the energy and enthusiasm alive and beaming, everyone has to continue to enjoy what their doing and not feel overwhelmed by it. At least until I get a payroll... lol. After that..#GameOn! lol
So what's the moral of the story?!?!?! To keep pushing and jumping those hurdles! Obstacles are the inevitable and a reoccurring theme in "Dream Chasing" so hold strong to your vision, and press trough. you may have to rearrange things a few times, to adjust to ever changing circumstances. But as long as you stay persistent and dedicated...a few tumbles and falls won't stop your flow!
WHAT I LOVED ABOUT LAST WEEK: Despite the obstacles, my team and I still delivered! We stuck together, and pushed out what we could. We are becoming quite the family! ;) #AlexTheHolisticPractitioner hammered out another great #MeditationMonday #MantraMyMessAway, and got our weeks off to an awesome start. The feedback on meditation Monday is what I dreamed enriching the total package of the human would be. We're still trying to get our new tribe to comment on the blog, and not INBOX and DM their testimony's, but hey, some feedback is better than no feedback. Where ever it shows up! lol #LaurenPakerTheEducator wrote a phenomenal piece on optimizing your child's learning potential! She is a real expert in childhood development and early childhood education, and she has been bringing the smarts to the parents of LCP! #EducationCulture
#DeactivatingEskridge is a very deep, sincere, real, raw, personal account of the process of divorce! This series is by none other than our #GenuineGemini Brittney Baker, and in last week's article...she got even REALLER! #EBONICS! She goes as far as to expose her own wrongdoings and shortcomings in her marriage, with the world.. #TooRealForTV! ;)
#AlextheHolisticPractitioner hit us with a double whammy AGAIN last week! Not only is she leading us in a meditation series, but she's also helping us improve our overall outlook on life. It's all in your mindset, and how you perceive your circumstances. I have been immensely blessed by all of the content our AWESOME contributors have been delivering, and I can really feel my spirit woman evolving. LCP, do yourselves a favor and check out each and every article in this letter, you won't regret it! 😎
Last week I was finally able to get in some writing time, and crank out a post! 🙌 It's been quite the challenge to format and edit for this many people, and schedule social media too; all the while wearing all the other hats in my closet! However, I was feeling so enthused and recommitted to LCP's business goals, that I had to share some tips. I mean, I revamped a site and changed its entire direction all in under 2 weeks! This didn't come of course, without new focus, new plans, goals, and strategies. But first, I had to realize what went wrong in the first place. My destiny was attacked by spiritual forces of darkness, commissioned to destroy all God laid before me. I had to #ToolUp & #GetSmart! When your ambition is exhausted, and you're overwhelmed by apathy, (Blogger's) depression, and your headspace is clouded, you grow detached from your goals. The devil is especially good at impending gloom & doom on us. When he and his punk a$$ army attack, you will feel overwhelmed, confused, and drained. This spirits name is Jezebel! However, another topic, another post; so I digress. ☺️ lol. Anyhow, check out #GameTime: Last Round! #GoodRead!
