Culture: Reiki Energy Healing & Self Care

It's time to celebrate LCP, we've got another week under our belts!!! Don't get me wrong this wasn't a bad week by any means, but it was long and I'm still getting used to the time change.... Lol ,

I believe that in the mist of all the work, kids, dogs, husbands, wives, partners and dream chasing, a balance must be created. We can't work day in and day out and not reboot mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

Through my training to become holistic practitioner, I was introduced to Reiki. Before my educational journey this practice was unknown to me. I would like to share this practice in hopes that you will take the information, and use it to empower yourself, through self-care.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki is not a religion, but is recommended that one practice certain simple ethical ideals to promote peace and harmony, which are nearly universal across all cultures.

Here are a few pointers that I came across and I had to remember when I first began.

  • Safe: No one can do any harm with the Reiki energy.

  • Intelligent: GOD (energy) knows where to go and what to do to help you.

  • Natural: No other tools or instruments are needed besides the Reiki practitioner, who channels the Reiki energy through his hands.

  • Gentle: The practitioner places her hands softly on the body or just above the body. Practitioners don’t use massage or manipulation.

  • Simple to learn: You can learn Reiki in three classes: first degree, second degree, and third degree (Master level) classes.

  • Lifelong: After you are attuned to the Reiki energy by studying one of the three degrees of Reiki, you have the ability to tap into Reiki for life.

  • Compatible with all religions or belief systems: You can receive or practice Reiki no matter what your religion. People of all faiths use Reiki as a system for relaxation and healing.

Now back to selfcare.. at some point we all need healing and relaxation. Reiki healing can be beneficial in these areas.

Reiki has gained in popularity over the last decades because – it works! Often people who have had the good fortune of receiving a Reiki session or series of Reiki sessions desire to take a Reiki One  class, or First Degree Level Reiki.

After taking Reiki 1, you have a beginning set of tools that you can use at anytime, anywhere for your benefit in self-care. Now with all the technology, if you can't take a class I suggest researching videos and audios in reiki healing that can provide the additional tools and diagrams for your use.

Five minutes of Reiki a day can provide a calming, lasting benefit.

Like meditation, Reiki calms and centers you. In addition, Reiki also energizes and provides clarity of mind as well. This is because it works energetically to both provide relaxation and to strengthen and assist your body’s energy pathways to function optimally.

Reiki for Self Care: Practical, Everyday Applications

Some practical application of Self-Reiki include: preparing yourself for the day, using Reiki for calm in traffic, ten minutes of Reiki for added calm before you go to sleep, five minutes before a meeting or presentation, five minutes of Reiki before calming and assisting others, and an infinite array of situations.

You may use Reiki in preparing meals, gardening, with your pets and family too. But always remember that self-care is important to keep you at your best, so a few minutes of self-Reiki a day can do wonders.

In Reiki Self-Care you may use Reiki for Personal Growth, Healing and Wellness.

Hopefully you have gained clarity on Reiki healing and it has sparked an interest to seek out more knowledge to empower yourself! Let me know what you think..Do you feel it's a practice you would try? Do you think reiki and religion bump heads? Are you a spiritual being? Is there power in our hands? Like, comment and share.

Can't wait to hear from you!

"There is nothing more dangerous than the lack of self-love so put your hand on your heart and feel the love now."
