March into Better Understanding: African History from A World Travelers' Perspective
What's up L.C.P. family?
I truly hope everyone had a great black history month, we actually had an extra day this year thanks to the leap year....... so it was almost like a full sized month this year! (golf clap) I poke fun at this not to offend anyone but rather to facilitate the process of shedding some light on PERSPECTIVES. Let's not stop with February.....
I am fortunate enough to have had the privilege to gather information from various parts of the world by travelling to visit various countries. This has allowed me to gain new perspectives on my life and my truths. I am extremely analytical and love information especially "unbiased truth". But unfortunately it occurred to me that EVERY story is biased bc it is usually told from the tellers perspective.
That's why I love travelling because this is when you are truly able to change your perspective and draw your own conclusion without the tunnel vision of your own respective country. You are able to hear the same story but from an opposite perspective and somewhere in the middle of these perspectives lies truth.
If you can control someone's PERSPECTIVE, then you will control what they are able to SEE. If you continue to see yourself as nothing, then that is ultimately what you will become.
I use my new found perspective to scower over social media and news and am appalled at what I SEE.... We are all being programmed daily and it is both sad and blatantly obvious. Just scroll down your newsfeed if you don't believe me, something just doesn't add up to me..
Why do we always have viral hood fights showing brothers and sisters behaving like animals?? Sure it's entertaining but it's bigger than that. We shrug it off as "well they are in the hood, that is what poor uneducated people do." But why is there such a large concentration of blacks in the hood in the first place??
How is that guys are able to dress up in turbans, throw a bag in a public place and people run for their God given lives?? Lol I know.... it is funny, but the sad truth is we run because our programmed, biased mindsets tell us to.
Is it merely a coincidence that this US election is so racially charged??...how else can a rich, celebrity, businessman grab enough votes from American people to win a "respectable" party and have a legitimate chance of actually running the country like a business? Last time I checked there were people's lives involved not just budgets and deficits...something doesn't add up.
RACISM to me is especially a subliminal programing and is usually biased to our own respective race and country. Besides as long as we are distracted and divided we fail to focus on the real issues, problems, and solutions.
People may wonder...... well why do we make a big deal about things like black history month, police brutality, Oscar noms (or the lack thereof) ,and all of the unarmed police killings? People may be wondering if there is even a need for a black history month? Where is the Hispanic American month? Indian American month? But answer me this WHAT OTHER RACE HAS HAD SO MUCH OF ITS HISTORY ERASED?? Why is the perception of the African American race constantly manipulated so harshly?
THINK ABOUT IT........its all about PERSPECTIVE.
True, we are partially at fault because we shoot our own selves in the foot by reacting when pushed, fitting stereotypes, boosting the ratings of racially degrading shows, buying Jordans, becoming statistics, but our perspectives have been manipulated to the point that this IS ALL WE SEE!
Just IMAGINE if the majority of Black History what you saw, was Positive Black History, instead of OPPRESSIVE Black History, for more than 20 something days..? We'd think higher of ourselves. Imagine if we were taught that we were Kings and Queens in the past, and were stolen and made into slaves. Ask yourself where would we be as a people, today?
I have been blessed to see countless museums all over the world and wondered where my artifacts were?? Where are my kings? Where are my roots? Why do I so easily see black features and noses on Egyptian statues?? Does anyone else not find it funny that after a certain time period of colonialzation by the Romans, all the artifacts and sculptures began to have eroded and broken noses?
Why do my tour guides have different versions of this story, but all the others museums in other countries have concrete facts? Why did Romans agree to protect certain tribes in Egypt with their superior firepower if they would agree to simply rewrite their hieroglyphic histories?
Why did I visit the natural history Museum in Shanghai and walk through through the African section and amongst all of the perfectly preserved animals of Africa and I found a poorly crafted, hideous sculpture of an African man and wife that was so poorly and disproportionately done, that it appeared as a black face caricature?
Why on the back of a tuk tuk in the streets of Thailand do I see this?
How is the darkest part of a cultures history the most well known? This is by no means an accident rather a manipulation of perspective. WAKE UP LCP!!! Our history may have been stolen but we can still rewrite our own hieroglyphics by changing our perspectives and getting back to our roots of greatness.
This is a glimpse into my perspective and it comes from stepping outside of what is fed to me.
I want to challenge u to change your perspective and manipulate your point of view once in a while and.... free of your "PROGRAMMED MIND "because things are often not as simple as they seem. Perspective is EVERYTHING in life!
YOUR MINDSET IS BASED OFF OF WHAT YOU PERCEIVE to be reality, and what you SEE all depends on YOUR PERSPECTIVE... You will never see ANYTHING without the PROPER PERSPECTIVE. You only will see what is in front of you. SO if you perceive yourself as NOTHING and continue to be programmed as such then your mind is TRAPPED... Further reinforcing your demise. This is why we need to be fed positive, empowering African history 365 days a year, instead of oppressive Black history for 28 days a year. Your perception could be changed to see your heritage and people in a positive light! Be blessed and remember anything is possible... Gotta see it to believe it!
