Meditation Monday Meets Beyonce's Call to Reform!
Once again, Beyonce` broke the internet and made the world stop with a new she-anthem surprise! I can’t help but feel this song and it’s message was aptly named and timed to perfection. Two reasons- This is female motivation at its’ finest! No female making any type of noise around their city will be able to resist this vivacious anthem. And atop that, she paid major homage to our civil rights leaders and African history. Every Black person will be able to attest to the pull they feel at Beyonce's call to formation.
THE LYRICS TO THE CHORUS REQUIRE ME TO SAY NO MORE. THIS IS THE MANTRA, THE MANTRA IS THE GRIND! WRITE THE VISION, MAKE IT PLAIN, DREAM IT, SEE IT, THEN DON'T STOP TIL YOU OWN IT. REPEAT! I TELL YOU NO LIES, THIS ANTHEM WILL ELECTRIFY YOUR SPIRIT AND RECHARGE YOUR ENERGY. GIVE THE SONG A SPIN AND SEE HOW MUCH MORE AMBITIOUS AND DETERMINED YOU FEEL AT THE END. I'VE TAKEN THE LIBERTY OF WRITING OUT THE WORDS TO THE BEY-MANTRA FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE. #MantraAway (I took out the lines that didn't apply to the grind.)
I see it, I want it,
I stunt, yeah, little hornet,
I dream it, I work hard,
I grind ‘til I own it,
I twirl all my haters
Sometimes I go off, I go off,
Get what’s mine, take what’s mine
I’m a star, I’m a star
THE CALL TO REFORM
Formation: The action of forming or process of being formed.
THE CALL TO REFORM-
Clearly the Queen is paying close attention to the racist, ass backwards happenings of this country. Although she is not personally affected by the stereotypical circumstances of the black community; she still feels the pain of her people. Beyonce’s message is unapologetically BLACK as she slams the European perception of black beauty by celebrating the kinky coils of natural black hair, flowing Afrocentric-ghetto-rrific braided locks, beautiful ebony complexions, and full African facial features! She sets the scene on an old French style plantation home and in the streets and daily lives of the New Orleans urban inhabitant. She brilliantly connects the church to the streets of the ghetto, the ghetto to the plantation, and the plantation to the negro revolution. #Genius! She is saying loud and clear it is time for revolutionary change, time do do as our forefathers did, and build! #BlackPantherMovement. She also blatantly calls out the government for their lack of extended interest in the wellbeing of people affected by natural devastation in black communities.
The biggest statement of it all was the police in riot gear, with the little black boy dancing around with his hands up, and the wall graffiti that spells out- STOP SHOOTING US!
Shout out to Bey for acknowledging the Black Hebrew, and the infinite potential the slain black lives could have.
Lastly, the advice she gives us to disregard the haters and #Twirl on them! I agree Queen Bey, the best revenge is yo paper! Hahaha You gotta write the vision and make it plain. Once you dream it, you see it, and then you #Grind until you own it. There you have it, the secret to life and success, thank you Beyonce` for making this plain for us to see! (lol)
Continue to twirl and shine on your haters LCP! It’s a new week, and we’re still at the top of a new month; have you got your February grind in line? Is your mini grind for the week in motion? Have you charted the course of your grind this week? Are you prepared to slay? Like Bey says, Slay trick, or get eliminated!
