African Heritage: Spirituality and Meditation- The 3 Spirits

The mood is calm but the air is thick. The ground is shaking, and rumbling... Through the bushes I can see legs, visibly circling a fire and dancing in sequence. There are drums pounding and chants being chanted. learly heard but the language is foreign. As the flame rises, reaching for the night sky, magic is being created- The Heritage of The African Spirit.

Greetings LCP family!!

We're at the top of another week and I'm glad to be above and not below... Do you feel me??? (Lol) I want to share something with you today... I had a hard time figuring out how to share the last part to this series. The Curator of LCP did an incredible job of conveying information about religion and spirituality of our African Heritage and It was informative and captivating. So that lead me think long and hard about what I wanted to express in the 3rd installment of this series, and how I wanted to deliver my perspective. I wasn't inspired until this morning and it just flowed I was in the spirit, I was allowing myself to be free and spirt led.

Now I can get down to it..

What exactly is spirit?

1. The nonphysical part of a person that is the seat of emotions and character; the soul.

2. those qualities regarded as forming the definitive or typical elements in the character of a person, nation, or group or in the thought and attitudes of a particular period.

When I read the definition the 2nd part  resonated with me the most. This embodies what African Heritage stands for in the spirit.

Our African Heritage is based on spirit... The elements of their characters over 1000's of years has impacted our black history and the preservation of their (our) African Heritage. Through meditation and reflection I discovered 3 Spirits our African Heritage imparted with us, and that it is our responsibility to acknowledge them and use them. Hopefully one day passing them to our children and so on.

The 3 spirits -

"As you bask in the spirit, focus on the energy of each and soak up the high  vibrations. These are powerful tools to add to your arsenal."

1. The spirit of integrity-

Live with a foundation, live by a code.. Don't be misguided by negative influences. Stand firm on principle. Have faith and hope. Our African heritage believed in each other, they were united and diligent in progression. After all, we are defendants of royalty! Wear your crown proudly, and do not stoop to a peasants level. You are on the throne! Repeat after me..

" I am Royal, I will respond in a manner of integrity".

2. The spirit of Courage-

The time is now to exhibit courage. Stare fear in the eye and overcome it. Fear: false, evidence, appearing real... It's an illusion. Our African Heritage shows us that fear wasn't an option... We were warriors, Kings Queens,  scholars, inventors and spiritual leaders, the list goes on and on. It has been proving time and time again that courage was needed to face the unknown and triumph over adversity. You are apart of this family... be of good courage my brothers and sisters!

Memorize and meditate on this power verse: Deuteronomy 31:6

“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."

3. The spirit of Tenacity-

I can't help but think about track and field athletes when I mention tenacity. When a runner has given his/her all and they are on the last leg of the race.. The last leg runner is waiting for the baton, they are facing forward but still slightly glancing back to make sure they can grab the baton with out dropping it. We are the last leg runner, and our African Heritage is the runner passing the baton. They are passing us truth, determination, strength, courage and integrity. We are the heirs to the Kingdom. Let me say it again.. You are an heir to the kingdom. Say this to yourself:

"I am an heir to the kingdom, not a victim but victorious"

Be determined, be purposed driven, and most off all remember the race is yours. You have the power and control of your destiny!!

After writing this I will be walking  in the spirt today!! I hope You will join me on this journey into the spirit world. Will you take the step? What did you think of this post? Like, share and comment.

Be blessed my Kings and Queens.
