12 Months of Grind and Beyond
YO LCP, WHAT'S UP?!?!
So I’ve done some soul searching about what I want to do for growth this year and in what way I want to grow. Believe it or not this was difficult for me to figure out. I came up with two goals. The first idea came to the forefront of my mind while roaming an airport bookstore. I’m in the airport at DFW drinking a caramel chai and I walk into a book store, searching aimlessly for a book to grab my attention and say something profound to me. About five minutes into it, I’m now in the business section and I see a book called “Straight to Hell” by John Lefevre. As I read I thought and felt the love of reading. There were so many books I’ve wanted to read but never got around to it. I would read three books at a time sometimes and it would take a while to finish. Why not read a book a month to expand my mind?
Do you remember when we were first introduced, I mentioned how important it was to embody personal development into your life and that balance of the mind, body and spirit were essential to living a healthy and active lifestyle?? Well here I go exercising the mind. Let’s go through the steps I we will take in order to complete 12 books in 12 months.
Step 1: Get a list of books you would like to read
Step 2: Write out the nanes of the books that you plan to read for each month
Step 3: Dedicate 30 minutes of reading time daily
The goal is to have read 12 books, in twelve months- A book a month!
Now let’s talk fitness Goals…
For this year I want to focus on upper body growth as well as endurance and stamina. To be specific I want to increase definition and strength in my shoulders, back, biceps and triceps. I also plan to increase stamina and endurance by doing cardiovascular exercises. How I plan to accomplish these things is simple. By Continuing to eat healthy but increase my calorie and carbohydrate intake I will be burning a lot more energy. What steps have I come up with to make this happen you ask??? No Problem!! I will tell you gladly!
Step 1: Find out the spin class schedule and create a schedule for yourself based around your availability
Step 2: Keep a workout log and keep track of each workout session and what that session consisted of.
Step 3: Annotate progress made each month (big or small)
My personal ultimate grind for #TheYearOfTheGrind is to have decreased my 1.5 mile run time by 3 minutes or more, and increased muscle definition and strength.
