Tuesday December 2nd, 2014, THE Rebecca Minkoff graced Birmingham's Saks Fifth Avenue with her easy going presence. Her meek demeanor makes for a beautiful contrasting element amongst the world of fashion designers, as she is soft, un-diva like, and very girl next door. Although her posture is mild and unassuming, she speaks with authority and expertise.
Fresh faced, and casually dressed in pieces from her very own collection (the new Ibiza inspired resort line.), she sauntered to the front wearing floral print crop pants, a sheer boyfriend tee, camel colored gladiator booties, and her signature (black) Moto leather jacket.
The above snapshot of Rebecca was taken during the Q&A portion of the mixer. The Birmingham Bloggers were lucky enough to be cordially invited to the event, and we had fantastic seating! :) Chic In Academia's (A fellow Birmingham Blogger) Bertha Hildago conducted the Q&A with Rebecca, and asked her all of our burning questions. We had the privilege of submitting some questions to be asked before hand, and were all sitting at the edges of our seats, absorbing EVERY single word she spoke! She gave us awesome insight into what designer's look for and what they expect in return from bloggers when they partner with them.
Overall, the event was very cute and classy. Saks Fifth Avenue, Birmingham were very gracious host's! The scene was chic and sexy, complete with a dj pumping mild tunes to vibe to, wine, hors d'oeuvre's and more. I'll add in a few clips from the Q&A session and a few fun photos! #Enjoy!
In the above video, Minkoff is asked how she balances motherhood and life on the road.
In the above video, Bertha asks Rebecca about the expectations brands have of bloggers. Minkoff also goes on to advise bloggers to establish their voice and niche for branding purposes. Businesses have to know what you stand for as a company.
I hope you all enjoyed my Rebecca Minkoff recap!
