Last weekend I had the privilege of hosting a Black History Month event for the NAACP’s Shelby County and Montello College Chapter. This is their first annual Black History Month event, and I was blessed to have been asked to take part in it.

This year’s theme was ‘Black History’s Unheard Hero’s’ and we remedied that by delving into several rounds of black history cyber trivia. The college students were aggressive in the fight for Rice Crispy Treats, and candy! They competed hard, jabbing away at their phones, and some even trying to cheat with Siri. No worries, we called them out!

In between the trivia rounds we had a few performances and a lot of group chat. We were an intimate crowd who enjoyed the candor of the event.

All in all, February has been a busy month for me, and I am so happy to have closed out my month with them!
